Director Biography

Award winning director Henrik Bjerregaard Clausen is a filmmaker with a strong sense of visual storytelling.

Coming from a career in animation and visual effects has given him a sharp eye for planning ahead – a skillset that has proven to be a great asset when working on challenging shoots with many moving parts.

Equally comfortable directing actors and artists, for commercials or short films – any project that demands strong execution on story and aesthetics – he will enjoy directing.

In 2008 his short film E.T.A. won the Best New Talent award at Aarhus Film Festival, Denmark and took the prize for Best Animation at BreakPoint in Germany. The short has been screened at dozens of festivals and has enjoyed more than a million views online.

In 2011 Born Again, his live-action mockumentary about a family of undead Christians won the Best Short Film award at BUTFF in The Netherlands and was named Runner Up for Best Short at BornShorts in Denmark.

In 2015 Lucid, a short film about a man trying to wake up from a dream, picked up awards in Germany and the US, and continues to enjoy festival screenings and nominations.

In 2016 Arene, his action packed sci-fi short film, was released, garnering praise from the Danish press and online media outlets.
